A Business owner of Real Estate Company wakes up in this advertised bed of which he got a great deal on the Internet by searching on Google.com “Good deals on Beds in Los Angeles”

To his advertised coffee maker, that makes the very best coffee in the world. He is so proud of his coffee maker that he bought on the Internet by searching on Google.com “Coffee Maker Reviews”.

The Business owner thinks: “How do I get more business from the Internet, I Nine Eye Interactive Media - Search Engine Optimization - That Works!have made the best Web Site for my business and spent thousands”.  He found the best Web Designer by searching on Google.com “Web Design Los Angeles” He only wanted the best….

The Business owner never considers Search Engine Optimization to optimize his site or hiring a SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Firm to optimize his Web Site about selling real estate in his home town.

He decides it’s time to brush his teeth with his remarkable Electric tooth brush that he purchased on the internet by searching on Google.com “Electric Tooth Brush” and “Electric Tooth Brush Reviews”. He is so proud of his tooth brush; he only wants the very best.

The Business owner still thinks: “How do I get more business and more leads from the Internet, I have made the best web site for my business and I spent thousands”. Yet he still refuses to optimize his Company Web Site for his keywords.

He then gets into his advertised car that he found on the Internet by searching on Google.com “Cars with the Best MPG” and then narrows his search down to “Hybrid Car Reviews”.  He is so proud of his car; he only wants the very best.

The Business owner boasts about how cleaver he is on finding the very best on the Internet. He knows how to get the best prices, only the top of the line products. Because, he knows he only wants the very best and yet he never considers Search Engine Optimization for optimizing his Company Web Site to be the very best.

The Business owner still thinks: “My competition is really booming on the internet and continues to think; “I have hired the very best Web Designers to build the very best Web Site.” Although he still refuses to optimize his web site or hire an SEO Firm to make him the very best!

At this point he has gotten so discouraged, he’s just not producing enough sales in his market to keep his business going.  He is so good at searching on the internet; he knows how to find the very best. He decides, I am going to search for the very best Real Estate Company to Work for and hopes there hiring. So he searches on the Internet “Real Estate Company” and thousand of nothing comes up. Now he narrows down his search to “Valencia Real Estate” and says “I have found the very best Real Estate Company to Work for, they were on the first page of Google and if there on the Front page of Google, they must be the best”.  Not only were they on the first page of Google, I only have to drive 5 minutes to work.

Needles to say the business owner who never optimized his web site, for search engines to find him. So he pulled the plug on his Web Site and reported to work for the very best company that was Search Engine Optimized for exactly what he was looking for.

He only wanted the very best….

I wrote this post to help local Businesses in Bakersfield rank in the search engines. A lot of times local businesses are struggling to rank in the search engines and can’t afford to hire an SEO Company to do the work for them. So this becomes my way of giving back to the communities that I do work in. With just a little proper onsite optimization most local businesses can rank for their local products and local services. This is mainly due to the fact that there is little competition in the local markets when it comes to Search Engine Optimizing. If you in a competitive market, you will need a lot more than onsite optimization. Although onsite optimization is the beginning to getting your local business found on the internet.

Shout Out to those of you on the Webinar

Now a Shout Out to those of you on the webinar, that maybe searching to see if I could actually rank a page in record time.

Well I did, but I had to start over. Trust me it didn’t feel good! Made some major SEO Mistakes and I hope you learn from them.  Do me a favor and leave me a comment. I love to hear from those that were on the webinar.

SEO Mistakes – Suck!

Wow! Got my ass kicked on a live webinar tonight… Very humble moment. Normally I would do a live ranking on Google and take the front page like it was nothing.  The search term “SEO Bakersfield” or “SEO in Bakersfield”, this was child’s play. I had already looked at the competition, there was none, didn’t exist.SEO Mistakes - Suck!

So what was the real problem? Well after being very humble, I went back and looked at the page. And son of a bitch! When I copied and pasted, I accidentally copied the old links from my last webinar.

So here’s what I mean

My last webinar was about taking the front page for “SEO Lubbock” and “SEO in Lubbock” Which I did in about 10 minutes and by the next day I was sitting at #2 or #3.  So I just copied the template I had been using each time to take these markets. Just before I copied the template I had been using, I didn’t change the text links.

By the way Douglas, do you see how easy this was. You can rank for anything, with very little effort. The problem is that people call themselves SEO’s who aren’t really SEO’s. For several years I have been wanting to create and launch are very own blog. The truth is, who has time to launch a blog and not only launch a blog but maintain a blog. I am Chaz Key and I have been doing SEO work since 2001. Back in 2001, things were different. A few meta tags here and a few links there and BAM you were on the front page of Google. What prompted me to learn SEO was just to rank a couple of websites for a company I was working for at the time. The idea was we were tired of having to pay high prices to newspapers for advertising to hire people and let me tell you, our company was paying through the nose. At the time we were paying on average $3000.00 to $6000.00 per month just to run ads in local newspapers, just shy of $50,000.00 a year.  So the idea was to create a “Job Site” that people could come and share the experience with the company, (remember this was way before Social Media), hopefully enticing people to fill out an online job application.  Needless to say, nobody came unless we put the domain name in the ad we were running at the time. Wow what a waste! The problem was if you did not know our company name or our website name, you were never going to find us. Big problem RIGHT? So back then I started to do a little research.

“No Idea what SEO or Search Engine Optimization is?”

At the time I had no idea what SEO or Search Engine Optimization was, I didn’t even know that SEO stood for Search Engine Optimization. So here I was put in charge of the company website, but I was smart enough to go out and find the right information. I read this and read that, still with very little understand. Some people would just say in you built a nice website, they will come,,,, NOT! Just build a website with nice content and they will come,,,, NOT! Don’t get me wrong good content is important! But it was just not driving the traffic. So I started an Google
Adwords campaign, because somebody else said the more traffic you receive, the higher in the SERP’s (Search Engine Return Pages) you will be, guess what I’m going to say,,,, NOT! The truth is this was a science that I had to master, now this isn’t rocket science by any means. But it really was a science! Things were changing rapidly, the SERP’s were in a constant battle with the spammers and the IM (Internet Marketer) crowed.

SEO Mistakes….

I can’t tell you how many mistakes I made, most I don’t want to even admit. The mistakes were an opportunity to learn what did not work and more over what really worked.  One of my biggest mistakes was not doing my keyword research, to fully understand how people were searching for the jobs we offered. This is a mistake that every company makes. Back then there werent the tools like there are today. I consistently use Google’s Keyword Adwords Tools, it’s awesome, especially when I am talking to a client over the phone.

Still Ranking….

To this day, that very same site (ugly if I might say) is still ranking in the SERP’s for its original keywords. Every day that same ugly site generates 10 to 15 job applications from people who are searching for the type of job. People always complain, “Google changed the algorithms”, whatever! Look, if you build a site to rank and do it the right way, your site will rank. Usually the real case is, some other SEO or SEO company was hired to out rank you and guess what, they did!

Ask your SEO how they rank?

My best recommendation to finding the right SEO or SEO Company offering SEO Services, is to ask them how they rank. Most of them are going to say something like, “oh were not really concerned with rankings or our own site”, whatever “BULLSHIT”. If an SEO or SEO Company can’t rank for their
own backyard,,,, RUN! Because there only going to rank your website for nothing
or temporarily.
